Why this exists

Today, records about you are bought and sold without you in the room.

Today

The record is rented, never owned.

  • Every time someone checks where you worked, the same record is bought again from a database you don’t hold.
  • You aren’t asked, and you receive nothing.
  • You can’t see who looked, or correct what they saw.
With Official

Confirmed once. Held by you.

  • The people who were there confirm your record once. It stays yours, and you can share it again without starting over.
  • Nothing is shown to anyone until you approve — or until a rule you set approves it for you.
  • You see every lookup and every grant, and you can revoke any of them.
How it works

Four steps. You only do two of them.

Your identity is verified once. Your employers confirm what you said. After that, the only work left is deciding who gets to see it.

  1. 1

    Prove you’re you

Verify your identity once, with your document. Everything else rests on this, so it comes first.

  2. 2

    List where you’ve worked

Employer, role, dates — and who there can confirm it. No paperwork from you; the confirmation comes from them.

  3. 3

The people who were there confirm it

They get an email, open a link, and confirm or correct what you said. No account needed on their side.

  4. 4

    You decide who sees it

A company asks; you approve or decline. Or set a rule once for verified companies and let it answer for you.

You decide, every time

Verified is not the same as visible.

A verified record proves you did the work. Who gets to see it is a separate question, and the answer is always yours. A company that wants your record has to ask — and pays nothing if you say no.

  • Approve or decline each request, record by record.
  • Set a standing rule for verified companies, so the ones you trust don’t have to wait. Off by default. Pausable in one tap.
  • Revoke any grant later. They go back to the locked view, not an error.
  • See who looked you up — and whether they went on to ask.

They can see that your record exists, that it was confirmed, and by whom. They cannot read it.

Carry it with you

Put it where you already are.

Your Official goes on your CV, in your signature, or on your own website. Whoever finds it reaches exactly one profile — yours — and still has to ask.

The mark on your CV

A badge and an identifier that resolve to your profile. It says a verified profile exists — not what is in it. That part still needs your approval.

Your record, on your own domain

Publish it on a site you own. The verified block is rendered by Official and can’t be edited or restyled by the page — the rest of the page is yours.

For companies

Verified before you ask. Paid only when they approve.

Find a person by name, or by the Official ID on their CV. See that their identity is verified, how many records they hold and how each was confirmed — then request access.

  • Employer-confirmed records — each one shows who confirmed it, in what role, and when.
  • No charge on decline. Funds are held when you ask and released if the person says no.
  • Instant where the person allows it. Verified companies can be pre-approved by the people they check.
  • No profile yet? Invite them. You pay only when the verified record is delivered.

Employer names, titles and dates are shown once the person approves.

Received an email from us?

Someone who worked with you has asked us to confirm it.

It takes about a minute, needs no account, and you can confirm what they said, correct the dates or title, or tell us you can’t confirm it. What you confirm is shown only to people the person themselves approves.

What the name means

“Official” means the same thing in most languages: this is real, and it can be relied on.

Truth

Where we start

A verified person, and a record of what they did that others can rely on without checking again from scratch.

Authenticity

In development

The genuine article rather than the copy — the same idea applied to things instead of people.

Connection

Follows from the other two

A real relationship between a real person and a real organisation, which needs both to be verifiable first.

Make where you’ve worked official.

Free for people. Confirmed by the people who were there. Shown to no one without your say-so.
